With a distinct national touch: Saudi-made tools accompany this year's ceremony for washing the Noble Ka‘bah
The General Authority for the Care & Management of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque has announced its preparations for the annual washing ceremony of the Noble Ka‘bah, an occasion that reflects the care and attention of the wise leadership (may Allah preserve it). This year's ceremony will feature washing instruments designed and crafted by Saudi hands in collaboration with the Royal Institute of Traditional Arts (Wrth), in a step that underscores the commitment to strengthening the presence of national industries and creative works in the service of the Two Holy Mosques. The General Authority explained that the instruments used in the ceremony reflect the quality and craftsmanship that distinguish Saudi traditional arts. They have been carefully designed to befit the symbolism and religious significance of the occasion while upholding the highest standards of craftsmanship and excellence. This initiative forms part of ongoing efforts to harness national expertise and capabilities, and to employ Saudi creativity across the various works and services provided within the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque. As a result, this reinforces national identity and showcases the Kingdom's progress in the fields of traditional arts and crafts. The participation of the Royal Institute of Traditional Arts (Wrth) in producing the washing instruments embodies a model of collaboration among national institutions in preserving Saudi cultural heritage and employing it in the service of the Two Holy Mosques. This is done in a manner that aligns with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, which seeks to support national culture and empower Saudi talent and creativity. The General Authority for the Care & Management of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque continues its efforts to enhance the range of services provided to the visitors of the Two Holy Mosques, while preserving authentic Islamic values and highlighting Saudi identity through its various initiatives and pioneering projects.
