The General Authority Implements Colour-Coding for the Pillars of the Grand Mosque to Help Visitors…
As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance the navigation and guidance system within the Grand Mosque, the General Authority for the Care and Management of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has announced the implementation of a project to install geographic identification signs on the pillars of the Grand Mosque. The initiative is intended to facilitate orientation and location identification for visitors to the Sacred House of Allah.
The General Authority explained that the project included the installation of geographic identification signs on pillars throughout the ground floor of the Grand Mosque. The initiative aims to support more precise and efficient space management, thereby contributing to improved crowd organisation and an enhanced visitor experience.
The project also involved the installation of 84 directional signs within the Saʿee area, enhancing location visibility and helping visitors and ʿUmrah pilgrims reach their destinations with greater ease and convenience, particularly during periods of peak attendance.
The General Authority further noted that the signage has been redesigned to ensure greater visibility and readability. In addition, the signs have been aligned with gates, pedestrian walkways, and key landmarks throughout the Grand Mosque, while their dimensions and designs have been optimised to accommodate movement patterns and high visitor densities.
This project forms part of a comprehensive programme of development initiatives undertaken by the General Authority to enhance the quality of services provided to the Guests of Ar-Rahman and improve the effectiveness of navigation and guidance services. These efforts contribute to delivering an exceptional, safe, and well-organised experience characterised by ease of movement and accessibility.
