The General Authority Enhances the Quality of Mobility Services in the Two Holy Mosques

As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of services provided to the Guests of Ar-Rahman and facilitate the performance of rituals, particularly for people with special needs and the elderly, the General Authority for the Care and Management of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has developed an integrated mobility-services system within the Grand Mosque. This initiative has included the establishment of specialised centres providing complimentary wheelchair services at strategic locations, alongside the launch of the modern "Haram Electric Carts" system, which offers safe and convenient mobility options. These efforts reflect the Kingdom’s commitment to caring for visitors to the Sacred House of Allah and providing them with the highest levels of comfort. Online Booking Through the Unified Tanaqol Platform As part of its digital transformation efforts, the Authority has enabled visitors to book mobility services online through the Unified Tanaqol Platform. This allows visitors to make reservations in advance, plan their visits, reduce waiting times, and enhance their overall experience. The platform also offers a unique service that enables users to reserve a wheelchair directly from their place of accommodation (hotel), allowing ʿUmrah pilgrims to request the service without the need to visit the designated distribution points in the courtyards of the Grand Mosque. Haram Electric Carts: Easier Mobility in Accordance with International Safety Standards The General Authority has provided more than 400 electric carts to facilitate the movement of worshippers and ʿUmrah pilgrims within designated passageways and areas, particularly during peak seasons and the Hajj period. These services operate within an organised operational framework that regulates usage and ensures the smooth flow of movement. More Than 6,000 Wheelchairs Supporting Visitor Mobility In the same context, the General Authority has provided more than 6,000 wheelchairs distributed across multiple locations within the Grand Mosque and its courtyards. In addition, 25 dedicated mobility carts have been allocated for transporting people with special needs, providing a practical mobility option that offers visitors greater flexibility. Collection points are carefully organised to ensure rapid access to the service. An Operations and Maintenance System Reflecting Commitment to Users Operational and maintenance plans are implemented by specialised field teams that continuously monitor readiness and performance. These efforts are integrated with crowd-management procedures to ensure the safety of all visitors. The General Authority affirms that the development of mobility services forms part of its broader objective of enhancing the experience of the Guests of Ar-Rahman and embodies the continuous care and attention devoted by the Kingdom’s leadership to the Two Holy Mosques and their visitors.
