Madinah, September 15, 2026, SPA -- The ambulance teams from the Saudi Red Crescent Authority branch in Madinah responded to a 70-year-old Yemeni Umrah performer who suffered cardiac and respiratory arrest while at the Prophet’s Mosque, reaching him in a record response time of 13 seconds.

The ambulance teams provided the necessary medical interventions before activating the cardiac arrest protocol and coordinating directly with the receiving medical facility. The patient was then transported to Hayat National Hospital for specialized medical care.

Director General of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority branch in Madinah Dr. Ahmed bin Ali Al-Zahrani emphasized that rapid response and early intervention in cases of cardiac and respiratory arrest are critical factors in managing life-threatening situations.

He highlighted the readiness of ambulance teams and their continuous deployment within the Prophet’s Mosque and its surrounding areas to serve worshippers, visitors, and Umrah performers.
