Innovation Exhibition at Hajj Research Forum Showcases Qualitative Approaches to Developing Pilgrim Services
Makkah, September 3, 2026, SPA -- The innovation exhibition accompanying the 26th Scientific Forum for Hajj, Umrah, and Visit Research, organized by Umm Al-Qura University through the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Institute for Hajj and Umrah Research, highlights the role of scientific research and innovation in developing services provided to pilgrims through various approaches addressing different aspects of the pilgrim, Umrah performer, and visitor journey.
The exhibition is part of the forum's activities, held under the theme "Excellence and Integration in the Hajj and Umrah Services Ecosystem." It serves as one of the accompanying scientific and innovative platforms, providing researchers, innovators, faculty members, and university students with an opportunity to present their ideas and projects. The forum also includes scientific sessions, workshops, poster presentations, and the "Hajjathon 4" event.
The exhibition encompasses eight tracks covering health; catering; accommodation; financial solutions; digital and mechanical technology; communication, awareness, and guidance; waste and recycling; and transportation, crowd management, and group movement. The tracks reflect the diversity of fields related to the Hajj and Umrah system and the broad opportunities available for research and innovation to contribute to its development.
The health track focuses on ideas and solutions related to healthcare services, while the catering and accommodation tracks address two essential aspects of services provided to pilgrims. The exhibition also features tracks for financial solutions and digital and mechanical technology, enhancing the presence of technological and innovative solutions in the areas targeted by the exhibition.
The scope of the tracks also extends to communication, awareness, and guidance; waste and recycling; and transportation, crowd management, and group movement. This connects innovation to various service and operational aspects of the pilgrim journey and enables the presentation of ideas and solutions that address the system's needs from diverse scientific and specialized perspectives.
