Grand Mosque Imam Denounces Terrorist Houthi Militia Attacks on Holy Sites in Friday Sermon

Makkah, September 18, 2026, SPA -- In today's Friday sermon at the Grand Mosque, Imam Sheikh Bandar Baleela warned against harboring ill thoughts about fellow Muslims, highlighting the severe consequences that arise from suspicion, including espionage, backbiting, and overt hostility.

Sheikh Baleela emphasized that thinking well of others is a fundamental obligation that nurtures inner peace, secures wellbeing in this life and the Hereafter, and strengthens broader social cohesion. He urged believers to steer clear of ambiguous situations that provoke doubt, advising immediate clarification of facts to resolve disputes across family, social, and workplace relationships.

Turning to regional security, Sheikh Baleela strongly condemned the terrorist Houthi militia's recurring attempts to target holy sites and peaceful civilian areas. He described attacks directed at Makkah, Madinah, and mosques as criminal aggression devoid of religious or moral principles, underscoring that such actions expose the group's ideological deviation and its exploitation of slogans to mask destruction.
