Farewell Tawaf Preparations: A Comprehensive Operational System to Regulate the Movement of Tawaf…
The General Authority for the Care and Management of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque continues its intensive preparations to organise the movement of the Guests of Ar-Rahman during the performance of the Farewell Ṭawaf through a comprehensive operational system aimed at facilitating pilgrims’ movement and managing crowds with a high degree of efficiency within the Grand Mosque and its courtyards. This is intended to ensure smooth movement and the safety of visitors as they conclude their spiritual journey.
Preparations begin from the moment pilgrims arrive at the Grand Mosque, with walking teams deployed throughout passageways, courtyards, and entrances to guide crowds towards the designated Tawaf routes, provide immediate assistance, and answer enquiries. These efforts contribute to regulating pedestrian flows and reducing the time required to reach the Tawaf Area and the Sa'i Area.
The Tawaf and Sa'i routes have also been equipped with multilingual guidance signs, supported by field guidance teams working to facilitate pilgrims’ movement, particularly with the increasing numbers of departing pilgrims after completing the Hajj rites. This enhances operational efficiency and raises levels of comfort and organisation.
Cleaning and sanitisation operations continue around the clock within the Grand Mosque and its courtyards through specialised field teams that prepare prayer areas and passageways and maintain the readiness of all locations to accommodate large numbers of pilgrims during the Farewell Ṭawaf.
As part of its supporting services, the General Authority has provided multiple Zamzam water distribution points and drinking stations across key locations within the Grand Mosque. It has also made available electric and manual carts for elderly pilgrims, persons with disabilities, and those requiring assistance, ensuring that everyone is able to perform the rite with ease and tranquillity.
These preparations reflect the integration of the technical, operational, and organisational efforts undertaken by the Authority to serve the Guests of Ar-Rahman and enable them to perform the Farewell Ṭawāf in a safe, organised, and accessible environment before departing for their homelands.
