Developing the 'Umrah Completion Service at the Grand Mosque: A Qualitative Expansion and a Free…

The General Authority for the Care and Management of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque continues to develop its services for the Guests of Ar-Rahman through the implementation of a comprehensive plan to enhance the ‘Umrah completion service within the Grand Mosque. This service is provided free of charge around the clock for both men and women, contributing to facilitating the performance of the pilgrimage rituals and improving service quality during the Hajj season. The plan aims to increase the number of beneficiaries during the Hajj season to 120,000, by enhancing the operational capacity of the service and expanding its scope of utilisation, reflecting the qualitative expansion taking place in the services provided within the Grand Mosque. The initiative also includes expanding the locations where the service is offered according to a carefully designed geographical distribution that ensures ease of access and reduces congestion, in addition to establishing new sites near the Marwah area. This enhances the smooth flow of movement and accommodates the high density of visitors, while also allocating a dedicated route for elderly pilgrims and persons with disabilities to facilitate their access to the service with ease and comfort. The development efforts also include offering symbolic gifts that leave a positive impression on visitors, in addition to activating beneficiary service centres to provide support, guidance, and responses to enquiries around the clock. On the operational side, the General Authority is working to enhance the readiness of field teams during peak periods, while reassessing and redesigning the locations of cart parking areas to improve aesthetic aspects, align with the visual identity of the site, and enhance integration with the surrounding environment. Since its launch, the service has recorded more than 2.9 million beneficiaries, with an average waiting time of around four minutes and an average service delivery time of just two minutes, reflecting operational efficiency and rapid service provision for the Guests of Ar-Rahman. These efforts come as part of an integrated system aimed at enhancing the pilgrim and ʿUmrah pilgrim’s experience and providing high-quality free services that reflect the level of care and attention given to the Guests of Ar-Rahman within the Two Holy Mosques.
