25,000 Carpets Receive Daily Care at Prophet's Mosque

Madinah, September 17, 2026, SPA -- The General Authority for the Care of the Two Holy Mosques keeps 25,000 carpets at the Prophet's Mosque clean and in good condition. It also prepares 153 prayer areas throughout the day to serve worshipers and visitors.

The work includes four daily rounds of carpet sweeping using 430 machines. The team washes more than 400 carpets daily and inspects and treats more than 70 as needed.

Ongoing disinfection and scenting operations use more than 450 liters of disinfectant and more than 250 liters of fragrance. About 25,000 carpets are also laid out daily to keep the prayer areas ready for use.
